As kids, many of us enjoyed reading comic books like The Incredible Hulk, Spider Man, The X-Men or even Superman. If we didn't read the comics, we probably enjoyed watching cartoon versions or TV series of our favorite gifted super hero. These super heroes possessed unusual powers in which they used to fight for peace and justice.
While standing for peace and justice, they were always faced by villains who were gifted as well but chose to use their powers for evil. Most of the heroes and villains recognized their powers at a young age, feeling strange and weird. They were told by parents or mentors that they couldn't do certain things or be around certain people because it would affect their special ability in a negative way.
What about you? Are you gifted from above? My guess is that you are. You are special in God's sight. I believe that God predestined us according to His purpose to possess certain gifts and abilities. There are certain things that you can not take in or participate in because it will affect your special ability. Do you know what those things are?
It is unfortunate that many of us do not know what our gift is. What's worse is the one who knows his gifting but does nothing on a consistent basis to nurture his gift. If our gifting is not nurtured and perfected, we are robbing the body of Christ and the world of what we can offer. We must discipline ourselves to practice, train, and perfect our gifts so that God will be glorified.
Your gift comes from God and will be better utilized when submitted to your Creator. Wisdom from God will shield your gift. God ultimately knows what your gift is and in many cases, so does the adversary. Your adversary, the devil, wants to pervert your gift and use it for his kingdom.
Ask God to illuminate your gift.
Ask Him to lead and guide you on how to cultivate it for His glory.
